There are two important pieces of information to bear in mind during the rehabilitation work on the Quartier Baker-Brook reservoir:
-
Despite a minor error in the notices, water will remain drinkable for the duration of the work. Should the situation change, for whatever reason, you will be informed. Please note that bottled water distributed by Théri'eau is provided in case there is an interruption in drinking water service, and not because the water will not be drinkable.
-
Reducing consumption of drinking water is essential (for non-essential uses). See below the press release sent to residents:
In order to ensure an adequate supply of drinking water for all residents during the reservoir rehabilitation work, we are asking for everyone's cooperation in minimizing water usage.
Please avoid all non-essential use of water, including but not limited to:
- washing cars, trucks, ATVs, or other vehicles;
- exterior cleaning of houses, buildings, windows, or roofs;
- washing driveways, patios, sidewalks, or asphalt with a hose;
- frequent or prolonged watering of lawns, gardens, flowerbeds, and hedges;
- filling pools, wading pools, hot tubs, or water play structures;
- excessive use of water to fill domestic tanks or clean recreational equipment;
- any other non-essential usage that can reasonably be postponed.
These restrictions are in place to help maintain stable water pressure throughout the network and ensure access to water for essential needs, including emergency services.
We thank all residents for their understanding and cooperation during these temporary works.
Reminder: if a complete interruption of water service occurs at your residence, please call the emergency number: (506) 258-3596 to report the problem to the municipality.
